Maple French toast Recipe Gluten-free, dairy-free (casein-free) and hypotoxic

ORGANIC INGREDIENTS

  • 3 large eggs (165 g)
  • 210 g (2/3 cup) maple syrup
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) vanilla extract
  • 8 slices of  gluten-free bread from Cuisine l'Angélique
  • Olive oil and plant-based margarine*, for cooking
  • Purée of fruits or fresh fruit, to taste

PREPARATION

  1. For soft and absorbent bread slices, thaw in the microwave (or in a conventional oven, wrapped in aluminum foil **)
  2. Soaking liquid: In a medium bowl, stir all ingredients with a whisk.
  3. Brush a non-stick pan with oil and melt a little plant-based margarine in it (the combination of the two fatty substances prevents sticking and allows better cooking).
  4. Dip 1 slice of thawed bread at a time, a few seconds on each side, to soak thoroughly in the dipping sauce. Place it in the pan.
  5. Cook on both sides over low heat to prevent the bread from burning. Turn over when golden brown. Repeat steps 2 and 3 between each cooking.
  6. Serve with fruit puree or fresh fruit, to taste.

* If you are not on a dairy-free diet, replacing the plant-based margarine with butter is an option.

** If you wish to avoid direct contact with aluminum, cover first with parchment paper and then with aluminum foil.
