Maple praline nutsRecipe Gluten-free, dairy-free (casein-free), hypotoxic and vegan

YIELD : 375 ML (1 1/2 CUP)


ORGANIC INGREDIENTS

  • 250 ml (1 cup) nuts, to taste (almonds*, pecans, walnuts)
  • 45 ml (3 tbsp) maple sugar
  • 45 ml (3 tbsp) maple syrup
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) olive oil **
  • 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) sea salt
  • Additional maple sugar, for garnish (optional)

PREPARATION

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, mix together the maple sugar, maple syrup, olive oil and sea salt.
  3. Stirring constantly, heat the mixture. As soon as the maple sugar has completely melted, add the nuts.
  4. Continue cooking over medium heat, stirring constantly, until completely caramelized (the excess liquid will evaporate).
  5. Place the nuts on the parchment paper using a spatula. If desired, sprinkle with maple sugar. Let cool completely.

TIP

*If you follow the hypotoxic diet, the almonds will not comply because they are heated to too high a temperature for this recipe.

**  If you are not on a dairy-free diet, you can substitute olive oil for butter.
